Edi Birsan - The Pulse of Concord...

PLEASE take a few seconds and complete this short survey.

From our friend, Edi Birsan. In the Summer, Edi will be running for Concord City Council. This survey is very important to him and to our community.

Edi advises that:

The Pulse of Concord is designed to be a quick 10 question survey of perspectives, issues, concerns or simply snap shots of the Concord views.

The first round of questions came from walking around talking to people after the budget workshops and at various community gatherings in the course of my campaign for Concord City Council. From the responses I will be gathering a panel of people to help craft questions. All of this will develop a greater profile of what makes people’s blood pressure pump here as well as explore perceptions of our community."

CLICK HERE to take the survey.

BTW, Thank you Edi taking an interest in the "Lemon Lady" garden produce/fresh fruit hunger mission, for helping collect fruit, for visiting me at the Farmers' Market last Summer and for inviting me to speak at your Concord Rotary Meeting. Edi has engaged the Sun Terrace Community in harvesting fresh fruit for the hungry. Edi's efforts are truly making a difference with increased fruit donations to area food pantries - and I'm very grateful for the help and support!

Natural Baby Diapers...A natural-born eco-friendly dream!

Photos courtesy: www.naty.com

Have you ever considered the toxins and chemicals we expose our skin to on a daily basis? What about all the chemicals in baby products? I believe in choosing more natural aand organic products whenever possible. In my search for an alternative to traditional disposable diapers, I fell in love with Nature BabyCare Healthy Baby, Healthy Planet, Natural, compostable diapers. I'm not sure if anyone actually composts parts of the soiled diaper, per se. The main reason we choose natural diapers is to limit our precious baby girl's bottom to unnecessary plastics, perfumes, and other chemical exposure.

I can't say enough wonderful things about these diapers. They perform equal if not better to the other name brands we've tried. For older toddlers, Nature BabyCare is available in size 5 and 6 pull on pants. These used to be sold at our local Target Store, however, I've had great success ordering through Amazon.com. Fair price. Fast service. Excellent product.

Aye, Aye, Mate! I spy an excellent find at $1.00 per pound...

An end to a fun and busy weekend. Here's a little tip for friends and family. Dine like it's a holiday!

My little pirate Ava spied an excellent find: Flame Glazed. Spiral Sliced. Uncured Ham. No nitrates or nitrites. A few of my favorite words to see. I couldn't believe my eyes...$7.02 for a 7 pound ham, price reduced from $28.01. A dollar a pound for quick sale at Trader Joe's. Gotta love the price. The TJ's clerk mentioned the sale should be Bay Area Wide and ongoing until the stock is gone. Have a great week.

UPDATE: Trader Joe's Treat/Oak Grove location may be sold out.
UPDATE: Trader Joe's Concord Avenue location may be sold out soon.
Other Trader Joe's throughout the Bay Area are also selling ham at $1.00 per pound. I would definitely call ahead to see what may be remaining at that price. As of 5/17/10, the following stores still had a few for sale:

1372 California Blvd., Walnut Creek, CA (925) 945-1674
1150 Concord Avenue, Concord, CA (925) 689-2990
4040 Pimlico Drive, Pleasanton, CA (925) 225-3600
1122 East Stanley Blvd., Livermore, CA (925) 243-1947
