NBC Bay Area - The Lemon Lady. Happy Thanksgiving...

NBC Bay Area, Joe Rosato, Jr. visited the Lemon Lady on location in Concord, CA. For other details about this story from Thanksgiving Day 2009 newscast, please CLICK HERE.

What do you do when you see a fruit tree with fruit rotting to the ground? Do Nothing. Nothing will ever get done.

Let us remember Thanksgiving Day as a day to help others less fortunate. Please help harvest fruit for the hungry. Apples, oranges, lemons, persimmons, peaches, pears, pomegranates. All grow in abundance along our urban sidewalks. Call the Lemon Lady to help harvest fruit for the hungry. Or, drop a flyer and make friends with a neighbor. SHARE Fresh fruit with a local food pantry. Hunger knows no season.
Happy Thanksgiving.

Jefferson Award Winner - CBS5 Television, Lemon Lady feeds East Bay Families in Need. Volunteers Still Needed!

Just an update:Nationwide campaign against hunger. Still collecting produce (400+ tons), gleaning fruit trees (tons and tons) and visiting farmers' markets (800+ farmer friends), eight daze a week. If you feel inspired, please donate fresh fruit to a county food bank or local food pantry.

A special heartfelt thank you to the many volunteers who have helped haul produce to hunger relief organizations over the past couple of years! Without your help and the generosity of farmers and urban fruit tree owners, those in need may never enjoy fresh fruit at their breakfast table. It takes community awareness to increase fresh fruit and vegetable donations to local food pantries.

In any city across America, there are Share Project Food Pantries, Soup Kitchens, Salvation Army, Homeless Shelters. The poor and hungry will greatly benefit from your gift of fresh produce.
Join the fun. Pick some lemons, grow a garden.

Feed the hungry! Visit a food bank today.Visit a farmers' market too.
For more information, volunteer opportunities or to DONATE FRUIT, please call or email.

Mission To Feed The Hungry. Fruit Harvesting. Even toddlers can join the fun...

Ava, my little "lemon lady junior" has been helping Mommy harvest fruit for the hungry since she could barely toddle around the garden.

Become inspired. Please join us in our preschool fruit harvesting adventures. Locally, I invite anyone in the community to visit us for a day of fruit harvesting fun. Bring your children. Call anytime.

SHARE the mission with your friends, faith group, church, social clubs, school or service group. SHARE the harvest. If we do nothing, nothing will ever get done. Have you walked on by a fruit tree today?
